Trump has made the bizarre and scary threat to “end civilization” in Iran, but how is he going to do this? Will it be a conventional strike (with what?), or is he planning to go nuclear?

My previous prediction that Trump would probably invade Iran, and that attempt would fail, seems to have happened, then was covered up as a rescue operation of a downed pilot.
Nuking a country to end a war he started seems extraordinary, but if Trump’s rambling truth social message refers to conventional strikes alone, there’s not much basis for the idea that it will be enough to cripple Iran. Ukraine has been under heavy bombardment for more than four years, yet their economy limps along, and targets like power stations and factories have proven extraordinarily difficult to knock out for more than a few days. And Iran is three times larger than Ukraine, both in geographic size and population.
There is a possibility that the strikes to disable Iran’s energy grid will start conventional, then escalate to nukes. Whether or not the plan is in motion, Trump’s zionist inner circle have already set to work conditioning the American public to accept a nuclear attack. Lindsey Graham and Mark Levin have both referenced WWII casualties recently, and in the context of Japan, which the US nuked, and then retroactively justified as a necessary measure to reduce loss of life.
Making the threats against Iran’s infrastructure on Easter day feels particularly satanic.
I have long argued that a nuclear attack against Iran is unlikely, because Russia and China, however much they would like to appease the US, cannot set a precedent that American presidents can just nuke their allies and get away with it. But US leadership has been erratic and desperate enough lately for me to think that such a strike is more likely than I thought.
Billy Bob’s thoughts on the matter:
Trump loudly and publicly declared today that he will crash the global economy starting tomorrow (Tuesday) at 8pm East Coast time.
There are two remaining options. Either Trump chickens out and holds off on triggering the promised global economic collapse, or he fucking does it.
I think it is likely that he does it. If he doesn’t do it, there will only be a short reprieve before it ultimately happens. This has been the plan for years and I expect it will happen tomorrow.
For years, and prior to Trump’s electoral victory, I have been predicting that Trump will get elected and launch a war against Iran in order to trigger a global economic collapse as part of a hegemonic strategy predicated on containing China.
Now we are on the very threshold of what will likely be one of the biggest events of the 21st century. An event that rational observers have seen coming for years. I have personally spent considerable time and effort writing and warning about this very day.
Here are the most important points that I believe people need to keep in mind in order to undestand what is going on and why:
1. The West is controlled by a transnational oligarchy that only has loyalty to itself and is happy to sacrifice the well being of humanity, any nation state, and the global economy in order to further their interests.
2. Their core interest involves “containing” China and resetting the global system in a way that results in a redistribution of the balance of global power which ensures hegemony for the Western transnational oligarchic elite, throughout the rest of the 21st century.
3. This plan involves monopolizing global energy resources and destroying those that they can’t control, in order to implement a future energy embargo against China as part of an asymetric war and probably another large proxy war.
4. So kidnapping Maduro and threatening the Venezuelan government, threatening the Mexican government, trying to regime change Iran (but settling for destroying their energy production capacity), and escalating attacks against Russian energy production, are all part of this obvious plan to monopolize global energy production, in order to leverage it against China.
5. We are just a few hours away from one of the most critical steps in all of this, which is the crashing of the global economy. To be sure, there are more steps to come. After West Asian energy production has been destroyed and after the global economy is irrevocably wrecked as a result, the West will turn its full attention to China. I will of course be here to say I told you so.
In general, we don’t agree on this. The war has become existential for both Iran and the US. It wasn’t always an existential crisis, and didn’t need to become one, but now it is. If the US fails to utterly defeat Iran, that is the end of the empire. No one will ever take American threats seriously again, the game is over. The Petrodollar will collapse, and the US has no social cohesion, every city will turn into a bloodbath of total lawlessness. Even humanitarian aid to US cities will be impossible, the trucks and trains would just be robbed before they even arrive at the distribution points.
But I see no off ramp that isn’t humiliating, this conflict can only lead to destruction, it’s only a question of how much destruction.
Now we just have to wait and see.

I clicked on the Youtube link at noon eastern standard time, and saw that the podcast was live. So I might as well re-post my comment from Quora. I was originally going to wait and see if anything in the discussion changed my mind.Billy Bob is correct that the real target is the global economy, not Iran. But the goal is not to destroy the global economy to accomplish some other strategic purpose such as attacking China. The goal is just to destroy the global economy. To elaborate, the industrial revolution has run its course, with the industrialization of China and Africa as its last acts. There is no longer any way for the "global economy" to expand (by the way this is completely in accord with Billy Bob's Marxism, and I'm not even a Marxist), and in any case overpopulation and fossil fuel exhaustion will force a contraction. The Cabal that is managing late stage global capitalism have been staging one crisis after another as cover for the reduction in economy activity. The original 1970s oil shocks, blamed on a war involving Israel and political turmoil in Iran, should be seen this way. "Covid" in 2020, with Iran again playing a major role, and the associated lockdowns are an even bigger and more obvious example of this. There is no strategic goal here, it is yet another crisis to take the blame for everyone becoming poorer and more controlled.
