Trump’s ultimatum and everything else in this war is a farce that upends any remaining pretense of legitimacy the USA’s “rules based world order” had. There was no lawful justification for the unprovoked war against Iran, and it was certainly illegal to launch a sneak attack in the middle of peace negotiations (even Imperial Japan declared war before bombing Pearl Harbor). Pretending to want peace and then using it as an opportunity to attack the enemy while their guard is down is explicitly and universally a war crime. Participating in an international naval exercise and then sneak attacking one of the other participants is a war crime. Bombing a girls’ school, female volleyball players and hospitals is a war crime. Trump threatening to attack civilian infrastructure explicitly to punish them for not surrendering and without even the pretense of military purposes is a war crime. Every single aspect of the Epstein regime’s aggression against Iran is a war crime.
I don’t understand how even the most deluded and propagandized European can cry about “international norms” after their emperor so blatantly violated just about every norm in existence.
Maybe the most ridiculous aspect of all this is that attacking Iran doesn’t even advance American interests, it advances Israeli interests. The US is not only a criminal regime it isn’t even sovereign, it’s an occupied nation.
