What’s Next in Gaza and Ukraine

Last night I had another opportunity to hear Prof. Vladimir Golstein, Chair of Slavic Studies at Brown University, weigh in about the ongoing conflicts in Palestine and Ukraine.

Gaza:

The USA has the leverage needed to compel Israel to stop or change the course of the war, but the Biden Administration doesn’t know how to use their leverage and has no alternative solutions besides what Israel is already doing. It is likely that the Arab states are also unhappy by the lack of solutions.

Ukraine:

Russia probably doesn’t want anything in western Ukraine and the fate of that region is unclear. Peace and forgiveness between peoples after the war ends is almost a certainty.
