Russia keeps their proxy war cards close to the chest so it will probably be a long time before it’s publicly known how much or little they helped Iran in the 2026 War. And that’s not new, just look at Korea. Soviet participation in their defense against the US was not officially admitted until the end of the Cold War, by either side.
With the power of 20/20 hindsight, the Soviet Union was not wrong, it was just too early. As we can see today, after more of the world market grew outside of the USA’s control, the rising tide lifted all boats.
