The main reason I stopped watching the Critical Drinker and the other usual suspects in the right-wing critic YouTube sphere, aside from getting really repetitive, is how easily they’re baited into loving slop. It’s usually not even conservative slop, it’s just slightly less woke slop. Woke-lite, if you will. Top Gun 2.0 and Reacher are notorious examples. They have the usual stronk empowered female characters and all the usual stuff these guys whine about, it’s just packaged as “masculine.” So stupid, literally like buying potato chips from another subsidiary owned by the same corporation.

By the way, yesterday I created a new Facebook group, Hot Movie Takes Nobody Asked for. This is a group where you can share memes, reviews and rants about media you don’t like. Self-promotion is fine as long as you’re not a retard about it. You should join if you haven’t already.

Tried to comment earlier on this and have no idea what happened. The comment was not important enough to try to repost.
Edward S., I don't see it in the spam folder either, unfortunately
I can't get the hang of the Tolstoy commenting system. My comment referred to this thread on the mauLer subreddit where the commentators said the same thing:https://www.reddit.com/r/MauLer/comments/1rq0qun/the_real_bbc_hollywood_hasnt_learnt_a_single/Most media devoted to mass middlebrow content actually don't go as far as these guys in criticizing it. Unfortunately, they still didn't go nearly far enough. And what we could really use right now is recommendations for alternative media.
Edward S., Maria ran into the same difficulty as you. If you comment as a "guest" and don't remember to click through the nickname step properly, your comment gets thrown out. Logging in with email or social media should fix this. I DO need to get around to creating a privacy policy page, and technically I'm supposed to… I ended up going back to TC because they have their own server, which loads very fast and supports images. All the freeware comment plugins I tried eat up resources on my crappy shared server I pay for. But yes, Mauler is insufferable. I watched his first 3+ hour rant about star wars, but he's a broken record. Like bro just find movies that you like, that's what I did. I have SOME negative reviews on my site but most are positive.
Edward S., There is one mauLer EFAP podcast I would recommend, which is the one on Ant Man III. People have probably already forgotten Ant Man III existed, and I think that will remain the case, and the podcast is much longer than Ant Man III. The difference is that unlike the movie, the podcast is really entertaining. It reminded me of the "Mystery Science Theater 3000" productions I watched decades ago. They even find some positive things to say about the movie. I would skip all the others, though mauLer did do one of these in praise of a movie, "Infinity War", which I think deserves it.
