I keep hearing this idea that winning the war would make Iran a regional power, this is incorrect. They are already a regional power, and winning the war would make them a world power.
The USA losing this war would be a colossal defeat, with enormous ramifications. If the Gulf States defect to Iran, that will effectively mean the end of the Petro Dollar, and with it, the political system. No more Petro Dollar, the USA would become a third world country overnight. It’s already a third world country in many ways, but what keeps everything afloat is a strong dollar that the US government can print in unlimited quantities. Losing to Iran could change all of that.
Everyone just seems a little too calm about the Iran situation. I have long held the opinion that no nuclear power will eat a serious strategic defeat without pressing the red button, now two nuclear powers, the USA and Israel, are facing that exact scenario.
