Trump was sworn into office with a popular mandate from the American people; no more wars. It has been many years since a president has started his term with so many easy low-hanging fruit, and yet somehow Trump managed to fumble them all. But it is his foolish war against Iran that is likely to sink him in the midterm elections. Nobody likes a quagmire and casualties that were easily avoidable, especially against a “threat” nobody except Israeli lobbyists was actually worried about.
Unfortunately, the MAGAs are shabbos goys, useful idiots for Israel, who are so under the thumb of zionist interests they’ll sink their own political movement for the IDF’s short-term strategic goals.
All that said, I don’t think democrats who sat out the 2024 election or protest voted made the wrong decision. You can’t control the actions of the opposing party but you can control your own. You can control your party by punishing them for ignoring the things you want. During the Gaza genocide, Kamala Harris advertised herself as the “lesser of too evils,” which was unacceptable. It was also insane, because what is worse than a genocide? The best that could be hoped for at the time was that Trump would take a pragmatic realist approach to the Middle East, which would be an improvement over Biden unconditionally supporting every single Israeli aggression.
But now the pendulum has swung to Trump, not Biden or Kamala, falling on his sword for Israel, which I think will likely lead to crushing electoral defeat and Trump’s impeachment, and I don’t feel the slightest bit sorry for him.

Its hard to comment on a two hour plus podcast. I lean more toward Billy Bob's argument, but I think you two are talking past each other.One thing you both miss is that the "global capitalist elite" is targeting the United States for destruction. The clue is that they are getting (likely through blackmail) the United States to bomb the one country that has a large military, is close to several American military bases, and can cut a key shipping route for oil.My take starts making more sense if you consider the "ARC" (America Russia China) or FDR's "four horsemen" (then USA, USSR, UK, and nationalist China) concept as an alternative to the "rules based order", even more so than the BRICs. The idea is to destroy every country that makes up the "ARC" or "four horsemen", to keep it from forming.A minor point is that DC had no problem with Iran being a dominant regional power when the last Shah was in charge in the 1960s and 1970s, though Billy Bob made a weak attempt to address that towards the end.Also, as far as I know no one has brought up why all these American military bases are inside the Persian Gulf itself, instead of nearby, such as in Oman and Jordan, where they would be less vulnerable to attack and could still support operations in the Gulf itself and Afghanistan. I wondered that when I was deployed to these bases.

Edward S., In general I agree with you that Israel is milking the US for what they can and hope to give Greater Israel a sufficiently large foothold to be a global power before American power collapses – and they're fine with directly causing American collapse if that helps attain their goal (aka – collapse Iran)
