Will JD Vance Remove Trump With the 25th Amendment?

Regime mouthpiece The New York Times published a lengthy article on April 7 distancing the neocons from the Iran war and placing the blame chiefly on Trump’s head. Meanwhile, CNN outright called for Trump’s removal via the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution. This might be the only way to save MAGA, but will it happen?

The NYT article spun an elaborate tale of JD Vance, Marco Rubio, and the intelligence and military communities expressing skepticism or outright opposition to Israel’s “farcical” plan to topple Iran’s and demilitarize it sufficiently to keep the strait open, and the reader can decide for himself how convincing the narrative is. Regardless of what was said at the time, had the plan succeeded, would we see such an article painting all these characters as in opposition to it? Probably not.

As of right now, Israel is ignoring the ceasefire by continuing to bomb Lebanon, and the strait remains closed. But Iran has apparently not launched any new attacks, which seems to disprove my assertion yesterday that the US could bow out of the war completely in favor negotiation and leave Israel to fight alone. The two ostensibly separate governments seem to be as entwined as ever; the US makes promises while Israel goes out of its way to sabotage them without fear of consequences.

I do think Trump and co. want the Iran conflict to go away, but I have consistently overestimated their ability to get out of quagmires, even when it would be incredibly easy to do so. It seems very likely they will fail to find a resolution with Iran tomorrow and the war will continue, and not on the USA’s terms.
