I am increasingly banned from western social media, which has led me to make a pact with the devil.
Over the past several years I have tried several comment plugins here, but they all had problems. So today I finally bit the bullet and went back to Tolstoy Comments.
Tolstoy Comments is actually great, I have used it before, and the reason I stopped was because in February 24, 2022 their server got hit with a giant DDoS attack. It was quite brilliant, actually. The comments server got hit with DDoS, which in turn bricked every website that used it. Since it was a Russian service, every website that used it would presumably be Russian or Russian friendly… including me apparently. I had to deactivate the service to get my website to work again.
Combined with financial sections, I just wasn’t able to use Tolstoy Comments anymore.
But now, 4 years later, in the complete absence of alternatives that didn’t leave me and my readers frustrated, I decided to give Tolstoy Comments another go. It is actually very nice and has a lot of features that you don’t typically see in comment sections on basic news and opinion website. So I hope everyone enjoys it.
If you are one of the elite few who regularly reads and comments on my blog, please comment here letting me know how Tolstoy works for you. If there are UI problems, I can look into fixing them before too many people get frustrated.

Could there be a post on how Tolstoy's Comments works for readers outside of Russia?I went to https://tolstoycomments.com/en/. I was told up front that I could use the site for 14 days for free, then I had to give my credit card information and opt for three paid plans. There doesn't seem to be any information as to what is being paid for. I clicked on one of the blog essays, and got something in Russian using the Cyrillic alphabet, which I can't read.
