The Bondi Beach attack will probably be the Reichstag Fire to crack down even further on citizens’ speech and gun rights, as well as increase surveillance. I already see media reports in several countries describing the “rising threat” in the most hysterical terms possible, and this will certainly be used to justify draconian authoritarianism.
But of course the shooters’ migrant background is not discussed – the 75yo white pensioner who shared a slightly edgy meme on his Facebook page will be blamed. And jailed.
It is also very likely that Five Eyes countries will find a way to pin the attack on “Russian state-sponsored trolls fomenting antisemitism.” So naturally people’s online privacy will need to be further restricted.
And it almost goes without saying that criticizing Israel will be even more outlawed than it already is.

Lots of people on the internet have been making the argument that these events are staged, and the thing with Alex Jones being forced to pay 1.5 billion dollars or something was set up to discourage this sort of talk, but it keeps happening anyway. They are also getting sloppier at doing these.

“But of course the shooters’ migrant background is not discussed” Why is this relevant? This looks to be truly a bs problem here. BTW at least some of the victims were immigrants, too (from Hungary). Is that relevant? The biggest shooting of this kind in the Australia/NZ region was done by a white supremacist Australian in New Zealand, 51 victims (all Muslims) in 2019. What do you get out of that?
