Since I was gone for so long, here’s some memes to catch up. Both my own original content, and others I found. Afghanistan, neoliberalism, and more weirdness. Here’s some covering the fall of Afghanistan. Where will the empire bring “democracy” next? Who knows.
This was actually hilarious to watch in real time. The U.S. intelligence community was embarrassingly wrong – predicting a government collapse in months only for Kabul to fall days later. Afghan security forces barely put up any fight at all, and who could blame them? Who would want to die for a puppet government?
What was equally interesting to me is how American liberals, the self-styled “resistance,” all tripped over themselves to defend the state’s geopolitical interests. As the situation in Afghanistan deteriorated, the blue checkmark mob got increasingly panicky. The dust hadn’t even settled before they were crying for American forces to immediately reenter the country.
